Uitwaaien…

A lengthy process in which the turmoil that has been collected and locked up in the body finally asks for liberation. Liberation on a high mountain, or on an empty beach. A place where you can close your eyes, spread your arms and let the wind push and pull the knots out of you. Taken in full surrender and brought back to yourself. Here your thoughts are always where they belong, the here and now. It's a place you can leave when you've unraveled enough and it's a moment you can return to when you need to.

This performance is the result of research into the use of motion sensors in music and dance. In 'Uitwaaien', Emma's movements will directly influence the music created by Aura Bouw through a sensor. The texts that can be heard in the performance are written and spoken by Merit Vessies.
